STUDENT SAFETY

The LaSalle Parish School Board recognizes the safety of every student is to be a matter of concern at all times.  The safety of students shall be safeguarded through close supervision of students in all school buildings, on school grounds, and through special attention to the following:

1. School buildings and equipment, including buses, shall be regularly inspected for health, fire, and safety hazards.
   
   

2. Children shall never be left unsupervised whether in class or on the playground, whether during class hours or during recess or lunch hour.
   
   

3. Safety rules are properly implemented in each school to prevent accidents in buildings and on the playgrounds.
   
   

4. Every effort shall be made by the principal to ensure that teachers are on their duty posts during the noon hour, recess, before and after school.
   
   

5. Every effort shall be made by the principal to ensure that students do not leave the school campus unless properly checked out by their parents.
   
   

6. No class shall be allowed in the gym other than during assigned P.E. class.
   
   

7. Teachers shall not be allowed to leave campus except in cases of emergency.
   
   

8. Precautions shall be taken to assure children's safety after dismissal from school.
