The LaSalle Parish School Board met in Regular Session on the above date with the following members present:

            The following board member was not present: Mrs. D’Juana McCartney

            The meeting was called to order by the President, Buddy Bethard.

            The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Bethard.

            On a motion by Mrs. Stott, seconded by Mr. Book the Board voted to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting held September 13, 2021 as reproduced and distributed.

            On a motion by Mr. Book, seconded by Mr. Pendarvis the Board approved a motion to Receive the Personnel Report as recommended by the Superintendent.

            On a motion by Mrs. Paul, seconded by Mr. Worthington the Board approved a motion to approve the Performance Standards and two (2) year contract of Casie Bradford, Assistant Principal at Jena Jr. High School, commencing August 1, 2021 and ending July 31, 2023 (As recommended by the Superintendent).

            On a motion by Mrs. Stott, seconded by Mrs. Cooksey the Board approved a motion to approve the Performance Standards and two (2) year contract of Jessica Marks, Assistant Principal at Good Pine Middle School, commencing August 1, 2021 and ending July 31, 2023 (As recommended by the Superintendent).

            On a motion by Mr. Fryar, seconded by Mr. Pendarvis the Board approved a motion to approve the Performance Standards and two (2) year contract of Jeremy Cassel, Principal at Jena Jr. High School, commencing August 1, 2021 and ending July 31, 2023 (As recommended by the Superintendent).

            On a motion by Mrs. Cooksey, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board approved a motion to grant Brittany Gooden, Teacher at Jena Elementary School leave without pay beginning October 1, 2021. (AS recommended by the Superintendent).

            On a motion by Mrs. Paul, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board approved a motion to Approve the Compliance Questionnaire for the 2020-2021 school year (As recommended by the Finance Committee).

            On a motion by Mr. Book, seconded by Mrs. Cooksey the Board approved a motion to increase salaries for support staff by $1.50/hr. (As recommended by the Finance Committee).

            On a motion by Mr. Pendarvis, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board approved a motion to authorize Bill Land with Land 3 to seek bids for completion of the Jena High School Girls Gym (As recommended by the Finance Committee).

            On a motion by Mrs. Paul, seconded by Mr. Worthington the Board approved a motion to enter into a lease agreement with Ross Bus Sales effective January 1, 2022 to replace Kathy Robertson’s Bus (As recommended by the Finance Committee).

            On a motion by Mr. Pendarvis, seconded by Mr. Book the Board approved a motion to rescind the highest bid from Johnny Jones in the amount of $1,000.00 for a 2003 Ford 12-passenger bus with wheelchair lift VIN#1FDWE45G73HB13672, Bus 40 (As recommended by the Finance Committee).

            On a motion by Mr. Book, seconded by Mr. Worthington the Board approved a motion to accept the next highest bid from Shaun Deville in the amount of $905.00 for a 2003 Ford 12-passenger bus with wheelchair lift VIN#1FDWE45G73HB13672, Bus 40 (As recommended by the Finance Committee).

            On a motion by Mrs. Paul, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board approved a motion to enter into a Standard Lease Agreement with LaSalle Ministerial Alliance for use of the JHS Auditorium on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. for the Annual Community Thanksgiving Service.

            On a motion by Mr. Pendarvis, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board approved a motion to renew the Barracuda Email Protection Agreement beginning October 9, 2021 and ending October 8, 2022 for the amount of $10,227.27 (As recommended by the Finance Committee).

            On a motion by Mr. Book, seconded by Mr. Pendarvis the Board approved a motion to Enter into Agreement with Dr. Femi Adegboyega, Honeycutt Drug Store to provide flu shot clinic within LaSalle Parish School System (As recommended by the Finance Committee).

            On a motion by Mrs. Cooksey, seconded by Mr. Fryar the Board approved a motion to suspend the rules add item(s) to the Agenda.

            On a motion by Mrs. Cooksey, seconded by Mr. Fryar the Board approved the following motions for the LaSalle Parish School System:

(1) Declare October 11-15, 2021 as National School Lunch Week

(2) Declare October 18-22, 2021 s National School Bus Safety Week

(3) Declare October 23-31 as Red Ribbon Week.

            On a motion by Mrs. Paul, seconded by Mr. Worthington the Board voted to adjourn.
