July 12, 2021

The LaSalle Parish School Board met in Regular Session on the above date with the following members present:

The meeting was called to order by the President, Buddy Bethard.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Bethard.

On a motion by Mr. Pendarvis, seconded by Mrs. Paul the Board voted to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting held June 7, 2021 as reproduced and distributed.

On a motion by Mr. Worthington, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board approved a motion to recognize LEDD committee members to provide updates relating to the Legislative Update Forum on broadband internet set for July 15, 2021. Committee members were: Cynthia Cockerham, Robyn Smith and Blake Phillips).

On a motion by Mrs. Stott, seconded by Mr. Pendarvis the Board approved a motion for the LPSB Child Nutrition Program to participate in the USDA Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for one year, beginning July 1, 2021 and ending June 30, 2022.

On a motion by Mrs. Paul, seconded by Mr. Worthington the Board approved a motion to accept the bid received from Southern Heritage Bank for Fiscal Agent for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.

On a motion by Mr. Book, seconded by Mr. Fryar the Board approved a motion to increase the LaSalle Parish School board state funded salary tables by $800.00 for positions requiring a degree and $400.00 for positions not requiring a degree effective July 1, 2021, paid as in a previous state funded salary increases.

On a motion by Mrs. Cooksey, seconded by Mr. Book the Board voted to receive the July personnel report, as recommended by the Superintendent.

JULY 2021

On a motion by Mrs. Paul, seconded by Mr. Fryar the Board approved a motion to accept the quote from Gentry & Holder in the amount of $15,300.00 for the gym floor at Goodpine Middle School.

On a motion by Mr. Pendarvis, seconded by Mr. Worthington the Board approved a motion to adopt the following policies as recommended by Forethought Consulting:

On a motion Mr. Worthington, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board approved a motion to rescind the highest bid from JJ Merchant dba Lynn's Enterprise LLC in the amount of $1,277.77 for a 2000 Chevrolet 16-passenger bus VIN# 1GBHG31RXY1170339 (Bus #31).

On a motion Mrs. Paul, seconded by Mr. Pendarvis the Board approved a motion to rescind the highest bid from JJ Merchant dba Lynn's Enterprise LLC in the amount of $1,092.92 for a 2002 Bluebird 64-passenger bus VIN# 1GBL7T I C81J513922 (Bus #35).

On a motion by Mrs. Stott, seconded by Mrs. Cooksey the Board approved a motion to accept the proposal for asbestos abatement project management and air monitoring at the JHS Girls Gym at the rate of $950.00 per day for daily air monitoring.

On a motion by Mrs. Paul, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board approved a motion to suspend the rules add item(s) to the Agenda.

On a motion by Mrs. Paul, seconded by Mr. Pendarvis the Board approved a motion to enter into a Cooperative Agreement between the LSU Ag Center and the LaSalle Parish School Board in the amount of $16,650.00 for a period beginning July 1, 2021 ending June 30, 2022.

On a motion by Mr. Pendarvis seconded by Mr. Worthington the Board approved a motion to postpone the September meeting from Monday, September 6, 2021 to Monday, September 13, 2021 due to Labor Day Holiday.

On a motion by Mrs. Cooksey, seconded by Mrs. McCartney the Board approved the Performance Standards and two (2) year contract of Kathryn Tyler, Director of Federal Programs of LaSalle Parish, commencing September 9, 2021 and ending September 8, 2023

On a motion by Mrs. Paul, seconded by Mr. Fryar the Board voted to adjourn.
