The LaSalle Parish School Board met in Regular Session on the above date with thefollowing members present:

            The following member (s) was not in attendance; Mrs. Aimeri Paul

 

            The meeting was called to order by the President, Buddy Bethard.

            The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Cohen Holland and Josie Robison, students at GPMS.

 

            On a motion by Mr. Pendarvis, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board voted to approve a motion to recognize Honorable Steve Andrews, LaSalle Parish Clerk of Court, as he administers the Oath of Office to newly elected Board Member Mrs. Marcia Cooksey, Ward 4.

 

            On a motion by Mr. Book, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board approved a motion to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting held March 1, 2021 as reproduced and distributed.

 

            On a motion by Mr. Worthington, seconded by Mr. Pendarvis the Board voted to receive the April personnel report, as recommended by the Superintendent.

TRANSFER

 

            Transfer Ellen Eberwein, Child Nutrition Technician from Nebo Elementary School to Fellowship School, effective April 1, 2021.

 

Transfer Amanda Fife, Child Nutrition Technician from Jena High School to Nebo Elementary School to Fellowship School, effective April 1, 2021.

 

Transfer Rodney McLendon, Custodian from Jena High School to Jena Elementary School, effective March 16, 2021.

NEW EMPLOYEE

 

            Employ Krista Bordelon, 7-hour Child Nutrition Technician at Jena High School, effective April, 1, 2021 (replacing Amanda Fife).

 

            On a motion by Mr. Fryar, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board voted to recognize  Ms.  Nancy Pratt of Risk Services of Louisiana representing Property Casualty Alliance of Louisiana (PCAL) for a presentation to Mrs. Suzan Nelson, PCAL Bus Driver of the Year. The new representative Ms. Lauren Young with PCAL made the actual presentation.

 

            On a motion by Mr. Book, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board voted to approve a motion to purchase KEV Group School Funds Online (SFO) school activity fund software including School Cash Online (SCO) in the amount of $12,763.00 from Technology Fund (As recommended by the Finance Committee

.

            On a motion by Mrs. Cooksey, seconded by Mr. Worthington the Board voted to approve a motion to enter into a standard lease with Tammara Gresham School of Dance for use of the Jena High School Auditorium on April 29, 2021, for a dance rehearsal and on May 1, 2021, for a dance recital (As recommended by the Finance Committee).

 

On a motion by Mr. Book, seconded by Mr. Worthington the Board voted to approve a motion to adopt the LaSalle Parish School System 2021-2022 District Calendar (As recommended by the Finance Committee).

 

            On a motion by Mr. Book, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board approved a motion to accept the quote from Insight Incorporated for seating replacement in the LaSalle Jr. High Auditorium in the amount of $49,750.00 (As recommended by the Finance Committee).

 

            On a motion Mr. Worthington, seconded by Mr. Pendarvis the Board approved a  motion to advertise the sale of a 2000 Chevrolet 16-passenger bus VIN#1GBHG31RXY1170339 located at the old JES. Sealed bid will be received by the LaSalle Parish School Board until Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at 3:00 PM (As recommended by the Finance Committee).

 

            On a motion Mr. Reeves, seconded by Mr. Pendarvis the Board approved a  motion to advertise the sale of a 2002 Bluebird 64-passenger bus VIN#1GBL7T1CB1J513922located at old JES. Sealed bid will be received by the LaSalle Parish School Board until Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at 3:00 PM (As recommended by the Finance Committee).

 

On a motion Mrs. Stott, seconded by Mr. Reeves the Board approved a motion to advertise the sale of a 2003 Ford 12-passenger +1 wheelchair lift bus VIN#1FDWE45G73HB13672 located at old JES. Sealed bid will be received by the LaSalle Parish School Board until Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at 3:00 PM (As recommended by the Finance Committee).

 

            On a motion by Mr. Reeves, seconded by Mr. Fryar the Board approved a motion to assign Bus#8 to the Sub Route Fleet (As recommended by the Transportation Committee).

 

On a motion by Mr. Worthington, seconded by Mr. Pendarvis the Board approved a motion to enter into a lease agreement with Ross Bus Sales to lease a bus to replace Bus #8 on the Regular Route fleet for the 2021-2022 school year. (As recommended by the Transportation Committee).

 

On a motion by Mr. Pendarvis, seconded by Mr. Reeves the Board approved a motion to purchase a 2017 Bluebird Vision Bus 53 passenger VIN#1BAKCCPHINF326194 in the amount of $55,000.00. (As recommended by the Transportation Committee).

 

            On a motion by Mr. Worthington, seconded by Mr. Fryar the Board approved a motion to reimburse rates on the Initial cost of CDL license for Sub and Contract drivers as follows Bus certification (30-hr course) the sum of $125.00, Driving test in the amount of $100.00 (As recommended by the Transportation Committee).

 

            On a motion my Mr. Pendarvis, seconded by Mr. Reeves the board voted to approve a motion to install video cameras on all new lease buses beginning with the 2021-2022 school year. (As recommended by the Transportation Committee).

 

            On a motion by Mrs. Cooksey, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board approved a motion declaring the month of April 2021 as Autism Awareness Month for the LaSalle Parish School System.

 

            On a motion by Mr. Fryar, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board voted to adjourn.
