The LaSalle Parish School Board met in Regular Session on the above date with the following members present:

Mr. Charlie Anderson
Mr. Melvin Worthington
The following members were absent: Mr. Howard McCarty and Mrs. Virgie Wilson.
The meeting was called to order and led with prayer by Mr. Worthington. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Bethard.
On a motion by Mrs. McCartney, seconded by Mr. Pendarvis the Board voted to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting held January 13, 2014 as reproduced and distributed.
On a motion by Mrs. Book, seconded by Mr. Worthington the Board voted to receive the personnel report, as recommended by the Superintendent.
PERSONNEL REPORT FOR FEBRUARY 2014
NEW EMPLOYEES:
Joe Jones, as School Bus Driver effective January 31, 2014 for the remainder of the 2013-2014 school year.
Tabitha Nunley, secretary for Nebo Elementary School, effective February 4, 2014 for the remainder of the 2013-2014 school year.
Kimbel Harris, janitor for Fellowship Elementary School, effective February 3, 2014 for the remainder of the 2013-2014 school year.
Cheryl Allbritton, teacher at Olla Elementary School (replacing Jana Bennett) effective February 4, 2014 for the remainder of the 2013-2014 school year.
Steven Smith, teacher at LaSalle High School (replacing Dillon Long) effective February 3, 2014 for the remainder of the 2013-2014 school year.
EMPLOYEE TRANSFER:
Joanna Doughty, janitor for Fellowship Elementary School transferred to Jena High School effective February 3, 2014 for the remainder of the 2013-2014 school year.
RETIREMENT REQUESTS:
Mellanie Randall, Special Education teacher at Fellowship Elementary School, effective February 5, 2014.
Mike Foley, janitor at Fellowship Elementary School, effective February 12, 2014.
EMPLOYEE RESIGNATIONS:
Jason Chisolm, teacher at LaSalle High School, effective January 15, 2014.
FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE:
Terri Taylor, teacher at Olla Elementary School, Family Medical Leave effective February 11, 2014 through March 21, 2014.
On a motion by Mr. Pendarvis, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board voted to approve the revised Test Security Policy.
On a motion by Mrs. McCartney, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board voted to advertise for the sale of used trophy shop equipment located at LaSalle High School.
On a motion by Mr. Worthington, seconded by Mr. Anderson the Board voted to advertise for the sale of used equipment located at the old Jena Elementary School.
On a motion by Dr. Creel, seconded by Mr. Anderson the Board voted to approve a five (5) year lease with Ross Bus Sales for three (3) school buses at a cost of $16,500 each.
On a motion by Mr. Worthington, seconded by Mr. Pendarvis the Board voted to recognize the LaSalle Parish Teacher of Year recipients as follows:

On a motion by Mrs. McCartney, seconded by Mr. Anderson the Board voted to the LaSalle Parish Student of Year recipients as follows:

On a motion by Mrs. Stott, seconded by Mr. Pendarvis the Board voted to recognize Mrs. Kim Evans with a report from the LSU-Ag. Center.
On a motion by Dr. Creel, seconded by Mr. Anderson the Board voted to suspend the rules and add an item to the agenda.
On a motion by Dr. Creel, seconded by Mr. Anderson the Board voted to approve the LaSalle Parish School Board Homeless Plan.
On a motion by Mr. Worthington, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board voted to reschedule the March 3, 2014 School Board Meeting to March 10, 2014.
Closing comments included extending appreciation to those in attendance, congratulations to LaSalle Parish Teacher of Year recipients and LaSalle Parish Student of Year recipients with best wishes during their continued competition at the State Level.
Appreciation was expressed for the cooperation and hard work displayed by the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office, Police Jury, and Supervisor of Transportation Scott Windham during the week of cold and snow weather. Remembrance in prayer was requested for recently ill board members Virgie Wilson and Howard McCarty.
On a motion by Dr. Creel, seconded by Mrs. Stott the Board voted to adjourn.
The meeting was closed with prayer by Mrs. Book.
